Oh my freaking god, this is hilarious

This is to anyone who feels like their day is crap. Watch this, look at his face, listen to the music and then wallow happily in the fact that you are able to go eat a cupcake if you so choose. By the way, this is compliments of youtube.

Warrior Rising by P.C.Cast

HSo, for all of you who have yet to read P.C. Cast, or who have only read her House of Night series (which I highly recommend... particularly because at my age I'm not often compelled to read a YA book. Although I am a closet Harry Potter freak...Shhhh! It's a secret), she has a new book out. It is entitled Warrior Rising and is the 6th book in her Goddess Summoning Series. Now, this series in it of itself is a hoot (though I will admit, Goddess of Light was my least favorite). Basically, in P.C. Casts world of awesomeness, the ancient Greek and Roman goddesses (who are one in the same)like to spy on us modern mortals. However, after awhile, the spying becomes boring. So, they either a. kidnap a poor modern mortal woman and s end her back to ancient Greece and chaos ensues (like in this book) or b. The Goddesses go wreak immortal havoc on unknowing modern Tulsa, Oklahoma via a portal that was created in Olympus for visitation to Earth. Of course, hilarity ensues and (because they are romance novels), everyone gets a nice H-E-A (duh!). So, now that you have some background to the series, let's get crackin on this lovely book and my review.

Let's start with the front cover:

If you see what I see, you see a very tasty looking man with no head. Which is perfect. Now we can all go into photo shop and take our significant others' head and plaster it onto a sexy warrior body. That seems like some darned good planning on the cover artists part, don't you think?

And here is the back cover blurb:

The Goddesses have had it with the Trojan War. So much devastation—all because of some silly male egos. The worst of the bunch is that cocky, handsome brute Achilles. But the only way to stop a man like Achilles is to distract him with something far more pleasurable than combat...

Enter Kat, a modern girl from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Goddesses transform her into a Trojan princess, having no doubt that she'll capture Achilles's attention. But can her independent spirit match the unquenchable fire of his epic rage? Goddess only knows...

Is it good? Yes. Does it give you a basic summary of the book? For the most part. Does it intrigue you to read further? (Had I not already been foaming at the mouth to get mt hands on it) I believe it would have. Does it enlighten you to the hours of hysterical laughter you are likely to burst into upon opening? Hells to the no.

This book was a riot from start to finish. By far, my favorite character is Jackie. Kat is witty, intelligent, sweet, a bit ballsy and everything you expect a heroine to be. Jackie has moxie. She's blunt, hilarious, intelligent, incredibly ballsy and can manage to be hungry after sewing parts back in the E.R. Jackie is badass.

As is obvious by the back cover, this book is set in ancient Troy during the Trojan War. In Greece you get it all. Meddling goddesses, plans gone awry, deceit, romance and a luscious, saucy black woman stuck in the body of a petite blond. That's right. A blond. Not only a blond, but an 18 year old blond who is also stuck in ancient Troy. Now, you understand the sheer hilarity that is this book. So, my little minions. Read! I bid you to Read! Tata for now.

For your viewing pleasure...

Right, so one of my favorite blogs to visit is Katie MacAlisters. If you don't know her, you should. She is witty, hilarious, is a stupendous writer and above all has what she calls DGM; or Dishy Guy Monday. Of course, Monday is now my favorite day of the week. I have decided that there are just not enough Monday's and thus I plan to put up random dishiness whenever I please in honor of Katie Mac's genius.

Today's Random Delectable guy is Adam.

Please, feel free to drool a little over those abs. And no, I am not pondering what's underneath that speedo *cough cough*. I'f you'd like to see more of Adam, please feel free to check out his portfolio at fusion models.

I hereby intriduce myself to.....

Hello any person who happens to stumble across this, go, "wtf is this crap?" yet still continue to read anyway. My name is Liz or Beth...or Izzie if it fits your mood. I'm a 23 year old aspiring scientist who loves nothing more that to whittle away the pathetic amount of free time I have (you guessed it) reading. I read almost anything, however I shall admit, I've been on a hardcore romance kick here for awhile. At first I attributed it to the crappy weather, then the crappier weather, then the nice weather. Finally, I just decided to admit it: I'm a sucker for happily ever afters and big, burly men with muscles...and stubble. Mmmmm....*drools*. Anyway, the primary purpose of this is to entertain myself and any person who accidentally finds this and goes "meh, she's slightly amusing, and I do like to read. I shall read on." I'm going to fill this with whatever I darn well please, however, you can be assured, there will be several book reviews on books I am in the process of reading or have read for your pleasure. So, now, off to never land! *cue in peter pan music*
